Fellows work at the intersection of economic justice organizing and cooperative economics, with a focus on racial justice and neighborhood equity. The 2025 Fellow will work with New Economy Project staff and partner organizations, for example, on campaigns to advance community land trusts and social housing, worker co-ops, community-based financial co-ops, and public banking. Over the course of the summer, the Fellow will gain exposure to policy advocacy, community and popular education, coalition-building, participatory action research, direct action, and other strategies. The Fellow may also contribute to our GIS mapping, video series, and other media projects.

The Fellowship is a full-time 8-10 week program that pays $16.50 per hour to students who do not otherwise have access to internship funding. Priority will be given to NYC applicants.

The 2025 Fellowship will involve a combination of remote and in-person work. Full COVID-19 vaccination is required.
