Goldman Sachs FICC and Equities New Analyst

The Capital Introduction team is involved in every stage of the hedge fund lifecycle, working with both start-ups and established funds. We are responsible for consulting to hedge fund clients on their market positioning and overall fundraising strategy. In addition to hedge funds, the Capital Introduction team has the unique responsibility of managing relationships with the world’s leading institutional investors. We interface with self-directed hedge fund investors including pensions, foundations, endowments, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, and the advisors/intermediaries who work with these groups. These formative investor relationships allow us to introduce our hedge fund clients to differentiated pools of capital throughout their fundraising process. Given the depth of industry relationships and experience, the team is viewed as being at the forefront of the latest trends and themes impacting the hedge fund industry.

Capital Introduction sits within the Prime Services business, which provides financing, securities lending, and other services (e.g., securities clearance and settlement, asset servicing reporting and technology, risk management tools) to hedge fund clients. The team is global and this position is based in New York at 200 West Street, Goldman Sachs’ headquarters.

Job Summary:

  • Analyst program is structured as an apprenticeship model in which each analyst works closely with senior members of the Cap Intro team on hedge fund and investor relationship management
  • Operate in a fast-paced, client-centric environment involving frequent client meetings/calls in which analysts assist in preparation, participation, and follow up
  • Heavy in-person, Zoom, phone, and e-mail interaction with hedge fund clients, allocators, and internal contacts across GS
  • Prepare overview materials on individual hedge fund and investor firms
  • Analyze data on the hedge fund industry and summarize key trends and themes by creating content that is distributed to global client base
  • Assist in planning and execution of a range of client conferences and events
  • Update internal Salesforce CRM for client and allocator data

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Dec 2024 or May 2025 graduation
  • Relevant internship experience in capital introduction, fundraising/marketing/investor relations/business development, and/or allocator firm (fund of funds, endowment, foundation, family office, etc.) is preferred but not required
  • Self-starter with excellent attention to detail and exemplary problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize competing responsibilities, manage deadlines, and stay organized, while conducting oneself with a strong sense of personal accountability
  • Team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues
  • Technical skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Familiarity with Salesforce.com or comparable CRM is encouraged
